KANSAS CITY, MO: A newly released statewide survey of likely Republican primary voters in Georgia by Remington Research Group shows a highly competitive and statistically tied race for Governor heading into the final stretch of the campaign.
According to the survey, Rick Jackson (29%) and Burt Jones (28%) are effectively tied at the top, with neither candidate holding a statistically significant advantage. With a margin of error of ±3.3%, the one-point difference between the two candidates falls well within the margin, underscoring the competitive nature of the race.
Further down the ballot, Brad Raffensperger receives 14% support, while Chris Carr trails at 5%. A substantial 24% of voters remain undecided, indicating that the race is still fluid and could shift in the final weeks before the election.
Key Findings
- Toss-Up at the Top: The top two candidates are separated by just one percentage point, well within the margin of error, signaling a true toss-up.
- Large Undecided Bloc: Nearly one in four voters have not yet decided, leaving significant room for movement.
- Fragmented Field: No candidate has consolidated a dominant share of the electorate, with support spread across multiple candidates.
- Candidate Familiarity Still Developing: Both leading candidates have relatively high “no opinion” ratings, suggesting that many voters are still forming impressions.
Electorate Context
The survey also highlights the strong influence of former President Donald Trump within the Republican primary electorate, with 83% of voters holding a favorable opinion of Trump. This suggests that alignment with Trump and his political brand may play a critical role in shaping the outcome as the campaign progresses.
Methodology
This survey was conducted April 28–29, 2026, among 815 likely Republican primary voters in Georgia by text to digital and live calls.
